Delete an announcement
Permanently remove one or more Info Hub announcements when you have delete permission.
Delete an announcement permanently removes a post and its associated data from your institution. Unlike Archived status — which hides a post from active views while retaining it — deletion cannot be undone.
Why it matters
Most announcements should be archived when they age out, preserving a record for audit and avoiding gaps in read analytics history. Deletion is appropriate when content must be removed for legal, privacy, or accuracy reasons — for example, a post containing incorrect personal data, a draft that should never have existed, or template clutter after consolidation.
Because the Info Hub is an official channel used across FuxamLMS, FuxamCMS, and Apply, permanent removal affects every surface where the post appeared: the main feed, Home widget, pinned banner, and any mobile notification entries that pointed to it. Treat deletion as a deliberate governance action, not routine housekeeping.
How it fits
Deletion is the terminal step in the announcement lifecycle — distinct from editing (which updates content) or archiving (which retires without erasing).

Templates on the Templates tab can also be bulk-deleted when cleaning up duplicated or obsolete layouts — see Manage templates. Template deletion does not delete announcements already published from that template.
Who can delete
Only users with permission to delete announcements can remove posts. Institutions often restrict delete access to administrators or senior communications staff while granting broader create and edit access to faculty coordinators. See Roles and permissions for how access is configured.
Delete a single announcement
Open the announcement detail page.
Open the actions menu (⋯) and choose Delete.
Confirm in the dialog (Delete Info?). The message includes the announcement title and states the action cannot be undone.
After deletion, you are returned to the Info Hub main page.
You can also delete from an announcement card on the main Info Hub feed using the card’s overflow menu, when you have delete permission.
Bulk delete
On views that support row selection (such as the Templates table), select multiple announcements, open Bulk Actions, and choose Delete Selected.
Bulk delete shows a confirmation dialog listing up to five titles and requires you to type DELETE to confirm. All selected announcements are removed in one operation.
The typed DELETE safeguard is intentional — bulk removal is appropriate for clearing obsolete templates or test drafts, but catastrophic if misapplied to live institutional notices.
Best practices
- Prefer archive for expired notices — registration deadlines and event reminders rarely need permanent erasure.
- Delete drafts promptly — abandoned test drafts clutter editor filters without serving readers.
- Coordinate on pinned posts — deleting a currently pinned announcement removes it from the Home banner immediately.
- Document governance decisions — for regulated environments, keep an external record when legal counsel directs removal of published content.

FAQ
Can I undo a delete?
No. Deletion is permanent. If you need the content back, you must recreate it manually or restore from an external backup outside Fuxam.

Archive hides a post from active views but keeps it in the system. Delete removes the post and its associated data entirely.
Who can delete announcements?
Only users with permission to delete announcements. Other editors may still create and update posts without delete access.
