Customise your home dashboard
Personalise the Dashboard tab on your Fuxam Home screen — add, move, resize, and remove widgets from the Widget Store.
The Dashboard tab on your Home screen is a personal widget grid. Unlike institution-wide pages such as the Info Hub or Calendar, the dashboard is yours alone: you choose which widgets appear, how they are arranged, and which you remove. Changes apply only to your account and persist across sign-ins.
Widgets turn the generic Home landing into a working surface — today’s appointments, active courses, open tasks, recent chats, and institutional announcements in one glance. Used well, the dashboard answers “what needs my attention right now?” before you dive into Courses or student administration tabs.
Why it matters
Teaching and study weeks are interrupt-driven. A well-configured dashboard reduces the number of clicks to reach recurring information: the next lecture on Agenda, outstanding work in In Progress Tasks, or a course row in Course Table that links straight into Open a course. Because layout is personal, students can prioritise curriculum-facing widgets while teachers emphasise course sliders and task insight — without either group changing institution settings.
Institutions may limit which widgets appear in the Widget Store based on which features are enabled for your organisation. That keeps available tools aligned with what your institution has licensed, while still letting individuals arrange what they are allowed to use.
How this fits
The Dashboard is one tab on the Home screen described in Navigate the dashboard. It sits beside role-specific tabs such as My Courses, Curriculum, and Management — those tabs show structured institutional data; the dashboard shows the slice you curate.

The dashboard does not replace those destinations; it aggregates them for quick orientation.

How to add a widget
Go to Home and make sure you are on the Dashboard tab.
Click Edit near the top-right of the dashboard to enter edit mode.
Click Widget (the button with a + icon) to open the Widget Store.
Browse the available widgets by category or scroll through the full list, then click Add to Dashboard on the one you want.
Click Save to apply your changes.
How to move and resize widgets
While in edit mode, you can drag any widget to a new position on the grid. Some widgets can also be resized by dragging their corner handle.
Place high-priority widgets — Agenda, In Progress Tasks, or Course Table — in the top-left reading path so they are visible without scrolling on typical laptop screens.
How to remove a widget
Click Edit to enter edit mode.
Hover over the widget you want to remove and click the delete icon that appears.
Click Save to confirm.
Removing a widget does not delete the underlying data. Your courses, tasks, and appointments remain available through sidebar items and other Home tabs.

Fuxam includes several built-in widgets. The Widget Store organises them into categories; common ones include:

Best practices
- Match widgets to your role rhythm. Teachers often pair Agenda with Course Slider; students may prefer Course Table plus Announcements during registration periods.
- Use Quicklinks sparingly. The Quicklinks Grid is powerful for linking to external reading lists or internal CMS pages, but too many links recreate the clutter the dashboard is meant to remove.
- Revisit each term. Start-of-term needs — module catalog, bundles, new chats — differ from exam season when In Progress Tasks and Completed Tasks Insights matter more.
- Combine with pinned courses. Widgets show breadth; Pin courses gives depth for the one module you are building or studying today.
Common pitfalls

| Duplicate information | Having Agenda and Calendar sidebar open constantly is fine, but redundant widgets plus every communication tile can overcrowd the grid. Remove tiles you never glance at. |
| Text or Image widgets stale | Text Widget and Image Widget are manual — set a reminder to update them when term dates or room numbers change. |
FAQ
Does my dashboard affect other users?
No. Layout changes are private to your account.
Can I reset to a default layout?
Remove widgets in edit mode and add back only what you need. There is no separate “reset” control documented — treat the Widget Store as your palette each time you reorganise.
Why can I see a widget in the store but not add it?
Some widgets require features your institution has not enabled. If Add to Dashboard never appears, ask your administrator whether the related feature is turned on for your organisation.
