Pin courses
Pin courses to the Fuxam sidebar Pinned Courses section for one-click access from anywhere in FuxamLMS.
Pinning a course adds it to the Pinned Courses section at the bottom of the sidebar. Pinned courses are personal shortcuts: they do not change enrollment, visibility for other users, or course settings — they simply give you a faster path into the course room when you are working in it repeatedly during a term.
This is especially useful when you are actively teaching a module, grading submissions, or studying for an exam and want to open the course without navigating Home → My Courses each time. Combine pinning with Customise your home dashboard course widgets for both sidebar depth and dashboard breadth.
Why it matters
Course lists grow. A student enrolled in a programme may see dozens of modules across years; a teacher may coordinate multiple seminars plus project supervision. Scanning the full My Courses tab for the same three active courses every morning adds friction. Pinning encodes current priority in the navigation chrome — the courses you are living in this week, not every enrollment you have ever held.
Because pinned lists are saved to your account, they travel with you across devices and sign-ins. They also complement, rather than replace, enrollment records: unpinning removes the shortcut only; the course remains on My Courses until your enrollment ends.

How to pin a course
In the sidebar, scroll down to the Pinned Courses section. If you have no pinned courses yet, the section will be empty.
Hover over any course name that appears in the sidebar’s course list (for example, a course shown under a collapsible section), and click the pin icon that appears on the right.
The course now appears under Pinned Courses in the sidebar.
Alternatively, you can pin a course from the My Courses tab on your home screen:
Go to Home and open the My Courses tab.
Find the course you want to pin and click the pin icon next to its name.
Both paths produce the same result — an entry under Pinned Courses that opens the course when clicked.
How to unpin a course
To unpin a course, hover over it in the Pinned Courses sidebar section and click the pin icon again. The course is removed from the pinned list but remains accessible through My Courses.
Best practices
- Pin actively, unpin promptly. At term end, clear pins for finished modules so the sidebar reflects your current workload.
- Use two entry points deliberately. Pin from My Courses when you are already reviewing enrollments; pin from the sidebar course list when you notice a course while navigating elsewhere.
- Pair with course widgets. If you track many courses at once, keep Course Table or Course Slider on your dashboard for overview and pins for the one or two courses you edit daily.
- Teachers: pin before grading season. Quick return to Review submissions and Grading saves repeated list scrolling.
