Configure course features
Enable or disable Learning Journey, Course Chat, Drive, and Calendar, control page visibility, and set the Fuxam or SCORM learning journey source.
Each course has a Course Settings tab where you can control which features are active. Turning off a feature hides its tab from all course participants. These toggles shape the course shell students and teachers see after they open a course: journey, chat, Drive, and calendar can each be on or off for that offering.
Why it matters
Not every course needs every channel. A self-paced online module may run on Learning Journey and Drive alone; a seminar-heavy module may need Calendar and Chat. Per-course features let institutions keep the LMS focused — fewer empty tabs, clearer expectations — without changing global platform configuration for every offering.

Open Course Settings
Open the course.
Click the Course Settings tab in the course navigation.
If Course Settings is missing, you likely lack permission — it is only visible to users with appropriate access (typically teachers or course editors with settings rights).
Toggle course features
In the Course Features section of Course Settings you will see toggles for:

Frame these as guidance for your programme design, not as fixed product rules beyond the documented toggles.
Page visibility
A separate Page Visibility section lets you hide specific pages (such as the Drive or Chat) from participants without fully disabling the underlying feature. This is useful when you want a page accessible to editors but not visible to students.
Learning journey source
Under Course Settings, you can also set the Learning Journey Source for the course:
- Fuxam Learning Journey — course content is built inside Fuxam.
- SCORM Learning Journey — course content comes from an uploaded SCORM package.
Once a SCORM package is uploaded, this setting is locked to SCORM until the package is removed.
When SCORM is active, the Fuxam content editor is locked — see Build the learning journey (teachers). SCORM packages are a standard way to deliver packaged e-learning; choose this source when your content already lives in an external authoring workflow.
Best practices
- Decide features before students arrive so navigation does not change mid-term without notice.
- If you turn Calendar off, plan how attendance and appointments will be handled elsewhere — or keep Calendar on and manage sessions in Calendar and attendance.
- Document for your team whether Chat is the official channel; otherwise students may miss announcements in Info Hub or email.
- Align LMS Course Settings with any OrgHub Course settings your administrators maintain (capacity, visibility, grading-related options).

FAQ
Who can change Course Settings?
Users with permission to change course settings — typically the course owner or an administrator. Others may not see the tab at all.
Does disabling Chat delete messages?
Turning off Course Chat hides the Chat section from participants. Treat disabling features as a visibility and access change for the course shell; follow your institution’s data-retention practices if you need certainty about stored messages.
