Sign in to the Fuxam mobile app with your email and password or institutional SSO, and understand what happens on first launch.
Sign in is how you connect the Fuxam mobile app to your institutional account. After you sign in successfully, the app loads your calendar, conversations, check-in history, notifications, and account details from the same account and data as Fuxam Web. You land on the Calendar tab — your home screen for the day.
Why it matters
Without sign-in, the app has no way to know which institution you belong to, which appointments you should see, or whether you are allowed to check in to a session. Universities create accounts through Fuxam Web User Management; the mobile app uses that same account. Sign in first — every other feature in this handbook depends on it.
How it fits
Sign-in sits at the start of every mobile workflow. It comes before Complete your profile information when your institution requires extra fields, and you need it to open the five main tabs described in Handbook Mobile.
| After sign-in | Where to go next |
|---|---|
| Calendar looks empty | View your schedule and pull to refresh |
| Profile sheet appears | Complete your profile information |
| Forgot password | Reset your password |
| Something fails | Troubleshooting |
On Fuxam Web, you sign in through the browser to reach Base, the LMS, and other modules. The mobile app uses the same credentials or SSO flow, packaged for a phone screen.
Key concepts
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Welcome screen | The first screen you see when opening the app while signed out. |
| Get Started | The button that begins the sign-in flow from the welcome screen. |
| SSO | Single sign-on — your institution’s own login page handles sign-in instead of a Fuxam password field. |
| Remind me later | Option on the profile-completion sheet that dismisses the form temporarily so you can use the app first. |
How to sign in
On the welcome screen, tap Get Started.
Enter your email address and tap Continue.
If your institution uses single sign-on (SSO), you are redirected to your institution’s login page automatically. Complete sign-in there and return to the app.
If SSO is not enabled for your account, enter your password and tap Sign In.
After you sign in
Profile completion prompt
The app may ask you to complete missing profile information required by your institution. You can fill it in right away or tap Remind me later to snooze the request. Until required fields are submitted, some actions may remain blocked — see Complete your profile information for the full workflow.
Already signed in elsewhere
To switch accounts, sign out on the other device first — see Sign out — or continue on the same device you used previously.
Forgot your password
If you cannot remember your password, use the Forgot Password? link on the sign-in screen and follow the steps in Reset your password.
Best practices
- Use the same email address your institution registered for you in Fuxam. Typos at this step are the most common cause of failed sign-in.
- On shared devices, sign out when you finish — especially in computer labs or loaner phones.
- If your institution uses SSO, complete the browser login fully before switching away; cancelling mid-flow can show an SSO error on return.
- After first sign-in, pull down on the calendar to confirm your schedule synced before relying on it for attendance or travel planning.
Common pitfalls
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| “Already signed in” | Signed in on another device | Sign out elsewhere or use that device |
| SSO page closes early | Login cancelled or browser blocked | Try again; contact IT if it persists |
| Empty calendar after sign-in | Sync delay or wrong institution | Pull to refresh; check Account → Institution |
| Profile sheet keeps returning | Required fields still empty | Complete the form or use Remind me later knowing it will reappear |
FAQ
Do I need a separate mobile account?
No. Fuxam Mobile uses the same account as Fuxam Web. Your institution creates and manages users through web User Management.
Can I use SSO and a password on the same account?
The app detects whether SSO applies to your email after you tap Continue. If SSO is enabled, you are sent to your institution’s page; if not, you enter a Fuxam password.
What if sign-in still fails?
See the I can’t sign in section in Troubleshooting, then contact your institution’s support team if needed.
