Reset your password
Reset your Fuxam account password from the mobile app using a 6-digit email verification code.
Reset your password recovers access to your Fuxam account when you cannot sign in because you forgot your password. The entire flow runs from the mobile sign-in screen: you request a verification code by email, confirm the code, and set a new password — without contacting support for a manual reset.
Why it matters
Password lockout blocks every mobile feature — calendar, check-in, chat, and notifications all require you to be signed in. Universities expect students and staff to recover forgotten passwords on their own when possible, so help desks can focus on policy exceptions and SSO issues.
How it fits
Password reset is an alternative path on the sign-in screen, parallel to the main flow in Sign in. After you set a new password, you return to sign-in and authenticate normally. You can also change your password later from Account → Personal Information — see Your student ID and profile.
On Fuxam Web, administrators can edit user credentials through Edit a user. The mobile self-service flow is the student- and staff-facing equivalent for forgotten passwords.
Key concepts
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Verification code | A 6-digit code sent to your registered email to prove you control the account before setting a new password. |
| Resend Code | Requests a fresh code if the first email did not arrive or the code expired. |
| Security requirements | Rules your new password must satisfy — at minimum 8 characters in the Fuxam mobile app. |
How to reset your password
If you forgot your password, reset it from the sign-in screen without contacting support.
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot Password?
Enter the email address linked to your Fuxam account and tap Send Verification Code.
Check your email for a 6-digit verification code. Enter the code and tap Verify Code.
Choose a new password, confirm it, and tap Reset Password (or Set New Password).
Return to the sign-in screen and sign in with your email and new password.
If the code does not arrive
Check spam or junk folders, and confirm you typed the email exactly as it appears in your institutional records. Codes are time-limited; if verification fails, request a new code rather than reusing an old one.
Password requirements
Your new password must meet the app’s security requirements (at least 8 characters). If the code is incorrect or expired, request a new one and try again.
Best practices
- Complete the reset in one sitting — codes expire, and starting over costs another email round trip.
- After resetting, update saved passwords in your device’s password manager so the next sign-in is smooth.
- If you use both mobile and web, the new password works on Fuxam Web as well; you do not maintain separate credentials per platform.
- If you repeatedly fail verification, pause and confirm your email with your institution before assuming the account does not exist.
Common pitfalls
| Pitfall | How to avoid it |
|---|---|
| Wrong email entered | Use the exact address from your enrollment or invite email |
| Expired code | Tap Resend Code and enter the newest code only |
| Password too short | Use at least 8 characters; add length for stronger security |
| SSO-only account | Institutional SSO users may need IT help instead of this flow |
FAQ
Will resetting my password sign me out of other devices?
After you set a new password, existing sessions may no longer be valid. Sign in again on each device you use.
Can I reset my password from Fuxam Web instead?
This handbook documents the mobile flow. If web self-service is available at your institution, it follows the same account — either path sets one password for all Fuxam products.
I still cannot sign in after resetting
Review I can’t sign in in Troubleshooting. Your account may be locked, suspended, or configured for SSO only.
