See upcoming sessions and recent check-ins
View today's upcoming appointments and your recent check-in history on the Check-In tab in Fuxam Mobile — and how this relates to calendar and web attendance.
The Check-In tab is where you scan QR codes to mark attendance. Just below the scanner, two lists help you see what is coming up today and what you have already checked into — without opening your full calendar.
Upcoming shows today’s sessions you can check in to; Recent Check-Ins shows your recent attendance history with confirmation times and participation type. Together they bookend the scanning flow in Check in with a QR code.
Why it matters
Students often arrive at a building unsure which room or session is next, or they scan a QR and walk away without reading the success sheet carefully. The Upcoming section answers “Do I have something to check in to today?” without leaving the Check-In tab. Recent Check-Ins gives a quick audit trail so you can verify you were counted before exam eligibility or administrative queries arise.
These lists are convenience views — your institution’s official attendance record is maintained in FuxamLMS and may be reviewed by staff in Take attendance or Manage attendance.

Upcoming appointments

Use this list before Start Scanning when you want to confirm the session name, time, or location. If you have no sessions today, you see No upcoming appointments for today. Tap View Schedule to browse your full calendar — see View your schedule.
Recent check-ins
The Recent Check-Ins section shows your recent attendance history, including when you checked in and whether the session was In Person, Online, or Hybrid.
Each entry shows a confirmation time such as Check-in confirmed at followed by the time. If you have not checked in recently, you see No recent check-ins.
After scanning, wait for the You have successfully checked in sheet, then verify the session appears here with the expected type and time.
Best practices
- Glance at Upcoming when you enter campus so you know which session needs a QR scan next.
- After each successful scan, confirm the session appears under Recent Check-Ins before leaving the room.
- Use View Schedule when Upcoming is empty but you believe you have appointments — today may simply have none scheduled.
- If a recent entry shows the wrong type (In Person vs Online), contact staff — they can update your status in Manage attendance or Take attendance.
Common pitfalls
| Issue | What to try |
|---|---|
| No upcoming appointments for today | You may have no sessions today — tap View Schedule for the full calendar. |
| Scan succeeded but no recent entry | Wait a moment and pull to refresh; check internet connection. |
| Wrong participation type shown | Ask staff to correct the record — recent check-ins mirror the official status. |
| Need history beyond recent list | Use View your schedule or ask your institution for official records. |
FAQ
Does Recent Check-Ins show every session I ever attended?
No. It shows your recent history as a quick reference on the Check-In tab. For a full calendar view, use View your schedule.
Why does Upcoming only show today?
The Upcoming section is scoped to today’s check-in-eligible sessions so you can act immediately at the scanner. Other days appear in your full schedule.
Is this the same as the attendance matrix?
No. The attendance matrix is a course-wide staff view. Recent Check-Ins is a student-facing summary on mobile.
